I started the day with Sarah and her bridal party at Derwent Manor Hotel. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed as preparations continued ahead of the ceremony.
Sarah wore a long-sleeved Ronald Joyce gown embellished with crystals. It was a dress she had admired for years after first seeing it on another bride while working at weddings herself. When she eventually found it at Brides Dream Newcastle, she knew it was the one.
Hair and makeup preparations continued while family and friends gathered. One of the most meaningful moments of the morning came during a private reveal with Sarah’s father before leaving for the venue.
Meanwhile, Aaron prepared for the day alongside his best man and groomsmen. He wore a classic black tuxedo which suited the elegant style of the wedding perfectly.
Guests gathered indoors at The Willows ahead of the noon ceremony. The venue provided the perfect setting for the couple’s vision, combining rustic surroundings with a refined atmosphere.
The ceremony entrance included several personal touches. Two flower girls led the way, while the couple’s dog took on the important role of ring bearer. Sarah was then escorted down the aisle by her father as family and friends looked on.
Live music from a pianist, violinist and cellist accompanied the ceremony and helped create a relaxed atmosphere throughout.
The ceremony itself felt warm and personal. Sarah and Aaron exchanged vows they had written for one another, adding another layer of meaning to the occasion.
Alex, Maid of Honour, delivered a reading during the ceremony before the couple officially became husband and wife. Surrounded by both parents, grandparents and their closest family and friends, it was a special moment for everyone present.
The couple’s dog successfully delivered the rings, bringing plenty of smiles from guests and adding a memorable moment to the ceremony.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed time together while photographs took place around the venue. The floral styling featured light pink peonies alongside blue and white florals, creating a soft and elegant colour palette throughout the day.
With 65 daytime guests attending, there was a genuine sense of togetherness across the celebrations. Friends and family were able to relax, catch up and enjoy the surroundings before moving into the next part of the day.
The details throughout reflected the couple’s vision of a wedding that felt fun, candid and rustic while maintaining a classy feel.
One of the most unique moments of the day came at the start of the wedding breakfast.
Rather than entering together, Sarah and Aaron planned separate entrances. Aaron arrived accompanied by a saxophone player while Sarah entered from the opposite side singing “Where Is My Husband”. It created a brilliant surprise for guests and immediately brought energy into the room.
Speeches took place before the meal, with contributions from Aaron, Sarah’s father and the best man. Sarah also spoke at the end, allowing both sides of the family to share stories and celebrate the couple’s relationship.
As the evening guests arrived, the celebrations continued with live entertainment and dancing.
The first dance took place at 7pm to “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You”. Sarah and Aaron chose to keep the dance short before inviting everyone onto the dance floor to join them.
Another emotional highlight followed during the father and daughter dance, creating one final family moment before the evening celebrations gathered pace.
